As some people may already be aware, we have experienced some unforeseen damages to the faceplates of our Section J Columbaria. This damage has been caused by melted ice and snow refreezing in the openings.
As part of our commitment to maintaining the integrity of the columbaria and niches, St. John’s Dixie Cemetery & Crematorium has decided to proceed with a complete restoration of all three Columbaria. All Rights Holders and Next of Kin have been sent letters of intent, and authorization forms to be returned to the cemetery before we can proceed with the project. An application to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario has been made by the Cemetery for authorization to disinter remains from their niches, place them in a secure area until the work has been completed. The target date for the completion is October 2022. If you have any questions, please call the Cemetery Office (905-566-9403)
Should any person(s) with legal status toward the Columbaria have any objections, please submit your objection in writing to the Bereavement Authority of Ontario:
